She started to stir at about 3:00am. I got up, turned on the new sleep machine that I got for Christmas (I'll tell you about it later) laid back down, gave her the binky (pacifier) and we went back to sleep. Not too bad. Then she woke again at 5:30am. I came downstairs to heat up her bottle- I'm nursing but try not to do it while I'm half asleep, otherwise I'll fall asleep with her at the breast. So I get back upstairs, and Jon is baby talking to Zoe. "No, Don't stimulate her this early. I'm hoping she'll go back to sleep."
He didn't come to bed until after 3am, and he will sleep til noon when he has to get ready for work. Well, she was awake by the time I caught it. So I brought her down stairs, gave her the bottle and then tried to put her back down in her cradle. She went too. So I caught a few more hours.
She woke again at about 10:00am, and I gave her some rice cereal. OK, so she doesn't like peaches on their own. I tried adding some banana. NOPE!! ok fine, then just cereal & milk. That she ate. Drank her bottle. Then we played for a bit. She played with Jeremy. Then Daddy woke up and played with her too. Now she's napping in the pack N' play that I set up here in the livingroom.
So here I am with a few moments to myself. Jeremy is watching TV, Jon has already left for work. We had lunch. All is good.

More to come!!!

Here is one of the snapshots from our wedding ceremony. Friends to try to settle my 2 month old that was screaming in my arms. Anyhoo... I came across a few different parent blogs. And I thought, ok I'm not going back to work...I can do that too.
So here I am, At home with the kids. Scared to death about what being the stay at home mom is going to mean to my marriage. As it is, Jon and I argue ALOT, and about the dumbest things. I was due to go back to work next week. But we've decided that it's just too scary to send an infant to daycare. Plus it's really not all that cost effective. Daycare for 2 kids, the cost of gas, etc.
It's really scary to give up my career. I've worked hard to bring myself to where I am now. Or should I say..where I was? Plus what's gonna happen when Jon starts complaining about money? Is he gonna throw it in my face that he's the bread winner? Me staying home was his idea. Is he gonna use the fact that I'm not working as an excuse for him to never do anything around the house, or with the kids? Ok let me start with some history...

My name is Krissy and I have 2 kids. My son Jeremy (from a previous relationship) is 7 years old, and quite the handful at times. He has had alot of issues in school. He has difficulty with his fine motor skills (grasping a pensil, using scissors, etc.) and it has recently come to our attention that he most likely has ADHD (Attention deficit hyper-activity disorder). Although he still has not been formally diagnosed. But he's a smart kid, too smart sometimes. He's had it kinda rough. I left his father when he was 9 months old. The relationship was starting to take that ugly turn towards violence, so I got out of there as fast as I could. We lived with a friend for the 1st few months before getting our own dump. YES, DUMP!!! I was on state aid, which was just enough to pay the rent. I found a job, and worked my way up. I worked in the durable medical equipment field. Stayed at my 1st job (a small mom & pop company) for a year before moving to a corporate owned company. We also moved from the dump to a pretty decent place. I stayed with the next company for 2 years before I was laid off. Yes, Laid off...not fired. It was a corporate decision to downsize, and I was the last one hired. After being out of work for 2 month, I found a job with another large company. Mind you, each move brought much more money. I've stayed with this company up until my maternity leave.

Which brings me to my other buddle of joy and exaustion. Zoe was born October 24th. She's mommy's little girl. Her father has a hard time with how close we are. He gets so upset when he can't calm her down...then here comes mom, picks her up and she stops crying.
What can I say.. I'm with her 24/7. She grew inside my body, we are going to have a bond!

My 3rd child would be Jon (my husband). Now I know alot of women will make a comment like that. But he truly is like a 3rd child. He'll be the 1st to say that he has the mentality of a 13 year old. Which I suppose is good practice for when Jeremy reaches that age.
Assuming I'm not in the insane asylum by then.
Jon and I were married earlier this year on July 9th. I'll give you a moment to do the math.

Ok-- Now let me say that we DID NOT get married because I was pregnant. Ok, well we did in a way. We were ingaged, and yes...we did move the wedding up. I didn't want a 2nd child born out of wedlock. I know, I know.. I shouldn't have been having pre-marital sex, let alone un-protected. oh well, shoot me!

Jon is a new police officer, and let's just say it hasn't been an easy time. He started the police academy in January 2005. Within the 1st few months he totaled his car, broke his elbow, and we moved in together. In the second half of the year we got married, had a post wedding reception a month later, and had Zoe. And now I'm not going back to work. AAAGGGHHHH!!!
The stress alone puts a major strain on our relationship. There is just too much for one family to deal with at once. But let me just say, everyone is healthy and that's what matters most.
In my field, I've been involved with some pretty heartbreaking cases. Some pediatric patients that have so many things wrong with them, but the mom's handle it all with such grace.
I admire them so much. Matter of fact, Zoe was born on the same day as one of my babies. That's what I called the kids that I managed their medical supplies. I think I'll miss the contact with the mom's the most. Ofcourse I've kept in touch with one of the mom's since going on maternity leave.

Ok... I think that's a good start.
More to come!!!
